The first button asks your device to open an email app. If nothing opens, copy or select the address and paste it into your usual email service. No message is sent automatically.
How do I record a moment?
Open Home and tap the Happy or Mood Off tile marked Tap to record. Each tap saves one moment with your device’s current date and time. You can record more than one moment each day. The widget’s Happy +1 and Mood Off +1 buttons work the same way.
Can I add notes or tags?
New entries contain a mood and timestamp only. This version does not let you add or edit notes and tags. Text and other mood types already saved in older records remain available in History and CSV exports.
Where can I find earlier entries?
Open History and choose a date range. Entries are shown newest first, with their saved times. Tap a date heading to focus on that day. Reports shows counts and charts for the period you select.
What is the difference between entries and recorded days?
Each tap is one entry. Three taps on the same date are three entries on one recorded day. A date with both Happy and Mood Off entries counts in both mood-specific recorded-day totals. A date with no entries is not treated as Mood Off.
Why did an entry move to another displayed date?
The app displays stored timestamps in your device’s current time zone. Changing that zone can move an entry to a different displayed date, especially around midnight. The original timestamp is unchanged. Check Android’s date and time settings if a time looks wrong.
How do I add the widget?
Open Settings, then Home-screen widget. If Add to home screen is available, tap it and confirm in your launcher. Otherwise, touch and hold an empty area of your home screen, open Widgets, find Mood Tracking and drag it into place. Steps can vary by launcher.
Who can see or use the widget?
Anyone who can view your home screen may see its counts. Someone who can use that screen may also record a moment using its buttons. Remove the widget if you do not want that information visible. Mood Tracking has no separate PIN or biometric lock.
Does Mood Tracking work offline?
Yes. Recording, History, Reports and the widget use local app data. An email app, the business website or a cloud provider selected for an export may need its own Internet connection.
Which date ranges can I use?
Reports offers Day, Week, Month and Year views. Tap the date to choose Today, This week, This month, This year, Last 10 days or Custom dates. Use the arrows to move between periods. History offers Today, This week, This month, Last 10 days, Custom dates and All dates.
Weeks start on Monday. Last 10 days includes today and the previous nine dates. Custom dates includes both selected dates. Tap Apply to use the range or Cancel to leave it unchanged.
What do the charts show?
The ratio and chart compare the Happy and Mood Off entries in the selected period. Counts measure recorded moments, not hours spent in a mood. Other older mood types remain listed separately and are not converted into either current mood.
Monthly labels W1–W5 group days 1–7, 8–14, 15–21, 22–28 and any remaining dates. They are chart groups, not calendar week numbers. Longer ranges may also group adjacent dates.
What do Insights mean?
Most Happy moments identifies the date with the most Happy entries. The latest date wins a tie. Happy moments compares the number of Happy entries with the preceding period; recording more often can change this comparison.
Most Mood Off entries shows the three-hour local-time group with the most Mood Off entries. The earliest group wins a tie. It tells you when entries were recorded, not how long a mood lasted or what caused it.
Can a report tell me about my mental health?
Reports summarize your own entries. They do not measure clinical wellbeing, screen for a condition, predict a crisis or provide a diagnosis. Changes in logging habits, missing entries and time zones can change the patterns shown. Ask a qualified healthcare professional about medical concerns.
Can I change a saved note or tag?
This version has no note or tag editor. Existing text can be viewed and exported. The entry menu provides Delete entry and Close. Deleting an entry removes the whole local record and cannot be undone in the app.
How do I export or delete entries?
For an export, open Settings, then Data controls and Export CSV. Read the notice and choose a destination in Android’s document picker. The CSV includes all dates, even when History is filtered.
To delete one entry, open its three-dot menu in History, choose Delete entry and confirm Delete. Choose Keep to cancel. For full-device removal and exported copies, read the Export & deletion guide.
Can I restore the journal from a CSV?
No. A CSV is a readable copy for a spreadsheet or text viewer. Mood Tracking currently has no CSV import or restore feature, cloud backup or account recovery. Keep the original installation and its data if you still need the journal in the app.
Will entries transfer to another phone or installation?
Do not rely on automatic transfer. Backup is disabled and app storage is excluded from supported backup and device-transfer flows. Another app installation or package uses separate storage. The production Mood Tracking app does not automatically receive the journal from an older preview installation.
Can support recover deleted entries?
We cannot access a journal stored only on your device or recover it from a developer server. Deleting entries, clearing storage, uninstalling or losing a device can make the journal unavailable. A separately saved CSV may remain readable, but cannot be imported into this app.
What if an export fails?
Check that the destination is available and has enough storage. For a cloud provider, also check its connection and sign-in status. Look for a partial file before trying again. The app’s journal remains unchanged by an export failure or cancellation. A success message confirms the app wrote the file, not that another provider finished uploading it.
What if widget counts do not refresh?
Open Mood Tracking and check History first. A saved entry can be present even if the widget has not refreshed. Use Refresh widget counts in Settings, then Home-screen widget, or remove and add the widget again. Android power saving, force-stop or launcher scheduling may delay updates. Do not clear storage or uninstall as a first troubleshooting step.
Which language does the app use?
The interface and date pickers use English. There is no language switch or translation download. Older notes and tags retain their original language and Unicode text. Android’s font-size setting adjusts text size.
